Madoqua Synfuels
Madoqua Synfuels (e-methanol) is a large-scale production facility that will use renewable energy to produce 320,000 tons of e-MeOH annually. This project as an excellent location with rail and road access to Ports of Aveiro and Sines. The project is located in central Portugal, in the towns of Maceira and Pataias – and it will generate economic growth through the production of Green Fuels at Scale. It will also meet the EU and Portuguese decarbonisation objectives.
A world-leading renewable methanol project, located in Pataias, Portugal.
The project will contribute to changing the world by developing new, cleaner forms of energy, such as green H2 and renewable fuels (e-MeOH). The uniqueness of this project lies in its innovative method of producing H2 and methanol, which does not emit any harmful gases into the atmosphere. Madoqua will develop a 500 MW electrolyzer in Pataias, Portugal, including facilities with the aim of producing up to 320 ktpa of renewable methanol, targeting offtake from shipping and chemical industries. Substituting current use of fossil-based hydrogen, the project aims to reduce early up to 500 ktpa of CO2 emissions.
